I am still getting that editing job done on The Skin I Live In (I am doing research trying to track down a few things, I've been re-working it for three days all ready) and I will let you know when that has been completed; then I will start editing Chronicle and getting those new comments up (I could easily write a book about that film, they did such an amazing job on it!). Next week, for Holy Week, I will be posting on The Passion of the Christ, Cecil B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments, Lambert the Sheepish Lion, Melancholia and, if I have time (apart from my own devotions for the week) a comparative analysis of some of the great paintings of Christ's death.
For now, here is a new featurette for Mirror, Mirror, opening this weekend with a greater emphasis on the dwarfs; why? Being the "little people" and the politically disenfranchised, those are the ones we are going to be identifying with (us Republicans, that is) and especially when the queen (Julia Roberts) says to "Raise the taxes," we know who this film is about:
I am hoping the other film coming out this weekend, Wrath of the Titans, will also be Republican in nature; the father of Zeus (Liam Neeson) and Hades (Ralph FIennes) is Kronus, who Hades has released, symbolizes chaos, specifically, the same disunity that plagued the United States just after the American Revolutionary war, which "gave birth to" the political parties that have evolved today. Here are two more trailers, one for Chimera, a beast composed of various animal parts, that I personally take to be the Obamacare health "reform" that has been unleashed on this country:
As Zeus says, "He's releasing all his demons onto the earth," and I don't think that refers to former President George Bush, or any of the possible Republican candidates for president. This trailer focuses on Makhai, that awesome looking two-torsoed sword yielding monster that is the demon of warfare. The unions, possibly? Wikipedia says, "The daemons Homados (Battle-Noise), Alala (War-Cry), Proioxis (Onrush), Palioxis (Backrush) and Kydoimos (Confusion) were closely associated with the Makhai. They were accompanied in battlefields by other deities and spirits associated with war and death, such as Ares, Phobos, Deimos, the Keres, Polemos, Enyo, and their mother Eris." Instead of the unions, maybe the Makhai symbolizes the liberal media?
This trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman has just been released, and it fills in lots of great details for us, and I just can't see how the decaying kingdom of the current ruler, trying to "do away" with the competition destined to be the salvation for restoration, can be considered a Democrat film:
There is an interesting part of this, the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and the minotaur creature that comes up in the forest when he's helping Snow White. The minotaur, as we remember from Immortals, is a sign of male sexuality, specifically, uncontrollable male sexuality. That the minotaur comes after the Huntsman while he and Snow White are in the forest, lets us know that he will have to overcome his own desire for her to save her from the queen. I have just found out that Snow White and the Huntsman is destined to become a trilogy, which is quite interesting; it seems that Miss Theron is the centerpiece of the film, so does she manage to escape? I am also getting up my comparative post on The Brothers Grimm and Walt Disney's Snow White so we will be ready to see Mirror, Mirror this weekend.
And now, for the latest Battleship trailer:
I had hoped that Battleship would be a Republican film, that it would be about our government becoming "alien" to us, but with this trailer, I think it's positing that the Republicans are the aliens who are coming to attack what the Democrat party as "achieved," and the Democrats need to unite to overcome the scouting parties that want to un-do everything that has been done. The "Goldilocks" universe is really a political world that's not too liberal and not too conservative, but "just right" for people who themselves are not one or the other. If this is the case, I will be rooting for the aliens.
We have the newest trailer for The Dictator, and this is an entirely new film with this additional footage:

Why is Bill Murray so funny?
I am giggling and can't stop. I think this is a type of Romeo and Juliet, meant, politically, to show a young generation, free of their parents' political in-fighting, making a world for themselves and falling in love while the rest of the world burns.
Why should we care about another film opening in May, Chernobyl Diaries? Think of Reactor #4 that started the meltdown as the KGB archive we saw in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol: one of the largest and most volatile countries on the planet can not have gone through the birth pains of perestroika and glasnost without leaving some residue behind, and what's "haunting" this abandoned place is really haunting the world:
There's not yet a release date for Samuel L. Jackson's Meeting Evil, but my favorite line is, "I don't kill someone unless they are already dead."
As you may know, Mr. Russell Crowe is playing Inspector Javert in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables along with Amanda Seyfriend, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eddie Redmayne. Mr. Crowe has also been cast as Noah in director/writer Darren Aronofsky's Noah which Aronofsky says will be a serious telling of the Flood narrative. Similarly, you may remember the trailer posted for Neighborhood Watch, slated for release July 27, starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill; commercials have been removed from TV due to the recent problems with "neighborhood watch." It has been leaked, however, that the suburban dads discover aliens in their neighborhood who want to take over the planet. Again, this probably refers to disgruntled Republicans who are campaigning to take back Washington, and are "alien" to their neighbors because

Who else has cancer and is doing nothing about it? The country. Who's the little guy? Just like the dwarfs in Mirror, Mirror, and Snow White and the Huntsman, he's the little guy disenfranchised in politics (I said size was going to matter in 2012). Marley (Kate Hudson) has just won a coveted contract for her company for a condom company (yes, condoms) and is being celebrated. Who else is being celebrated for their position on birth control? Specifically, Marley finds out she has colon cancer, which means she can't "get rid of the waste." And guess who plays God... Whoopie Goldberg. She dies, and just trying to make "the best of her last days," may be the only sobering voice in the Democrat party telling them that the party is ending...
